about

… this is a page upon which one might expect to read something meaningful about me & my pictures.. but somewhat disappointingly perhaps all I can say is I’m not what some folk would call a ‘disciplined’ photographer… travelling mostly by bicycle I find it is not a true reflection of the way I see the world to spend time setting up the perfect photo or to wait for perfect light. Rather I just like to keep my camera handy & react to what I see, then I move on…… snapshots if you like, hence “street & stuff”… I’m fascinated by street photography.. the way a photograph is a brief and unique moment in time, and place, never to be repeated.

Oh, and I still like film… and manual cameras with knobs n’ dials, clicky bits…  and stuff. Having said that it is not always practical to carry lots and lots of film on a long bicycle journey so I must confess that I do, sometimes, use a digital camera….

Sixty Degrees of Latitude

A journey by bicycle following the Andes from a latitude of 5 degrees north in Colombia to 55 degrees south at the tip of Tierra del Fuego. These are some of the places in between.
